Continuous glass fibre is wound around a mould at a controlled angle, which gives a strong, lightweight, corrosion-resistant tank with a consistent wall. The Al Hilal GRP Filament Winding Tank is a large-capacity storage tank manufactured by Al Hilal Fiber & Acrylic Industry in Oman. Instead of building the wall by hand, we wind continuous ECR glass fibre, coated in resin, around a rotating mould at a 60° angle. The result is a high-strength shell with an even wall thickness and a smooth finish.
Because it is made from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), the tank does not rust, rot or need repainting. It is far lighter than steel or concrete, which makes transport and installation easier, and it performs reliably in demanding climates. Tanks are designed and built to BS 4994, and every tank passes through hardness testing, visual inspection and dimensional verification before dispatch.
